Bluuuue Collar. This is a cool bar - by cool, I mean you get a good craft beer-Green Flash West Coast IPA $3.75, Happy Hour probably, but what's the reg. price $4, $5. Still a killer deal. Loads of camouflage capped dudes and some neon vested industry men. Hardly any gals. Video poker, swift service. Clean restrooms. Thought I heard it was shutting soon. The space is huge - they don't use it all. But it's a good stop after a work meeting in Oregon City. I've only had pints of ale here and bought lottery tickets and cannot speak about food or the rest of the space.

I recently discovered that Jin's is open early on the weekends for breakfast. As an added bonus, one of my favorite local cooks is working during those magical hours. I haven't been to Jin's since it was an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet back in the day. I realized when I entered the place that about half the very large space is devoted to pool tables and dance floor (?). I made my way through this area over to one of the tables near the bar. The vibe here is part sports bar part local hangout. The bartender was friendly in one of those "what are you sitting over here?" kind of ways. I'm sure she's used to most patrons bellying up to the bar but at 7:30 in the morning I can't imagine bellying up to anything except a hot cup of coffee and some protein. Said coffee was hot and actually pretty decent. I ordered the blueberry waffle special and was blown away when it arrived! It was like a piece of art. A piping hot waffle filled with blueberries then topped with blueberry syrup, whipped cream and just a spanking of cinnamon. And only $5.00!!! WTH? It was excellent though very sweet and I could only eat about 2/3 of it. Believe me when I say you should split this with someone if you order it. I decided to check the place out again a few weeks later to make sure it wasn't just a fluke and was pleasantly surprised that the bartender remembered me and was a bit more friendly during my second visit. I ordered something completely different and was slightly disappointed....though in retrospect I will probably always compare my meal to that first visit and be somewhat let down.

I can't say this place is top notch... But if you are looking to get a stiff drink and most everything is closed. Jin's is the place to be. Average establishment. A couple of pool tables, friendly enough staff. Video Lottery. Outdoor (semi-covered?) smoking patio. TVs. It is nothing to get excited about, but it serves it's purpose. It's like that person in high school you lost your virginity to.

Lots of Pool Tables - Diamonds. Food is ok, Drinks are good to slightly stiff, wait staff is easily distracted by the regulars, so you may wait at times.

Somewhere between disgusting and vomit-inducing lies the proper adjective to describe the food at Jins. Aside from the rude staff and absentee owners, this dive-of-all-dives masquerades as a 'steakhouse' but God help you if you think you're going to get a decent meal. Now, I'm not one to exaggerate but after ordering a 'french dip' thinking I was going to get something edible, arrived a greasy, fatty, made-from-left-overs (their words) grease-soaked bun with watered down, tasteless 10-day old 'dipping' Au Jus. I (nicely) brought my meal back after just a few bites and was rudely told 'that's how it's supposed to come' and was instructed to 're-read the menu'. I returned the full-plate and was charged in full for the meal. Wait, it gets worse. Apparently, you're not supposed to criticize the food there because upon my next visit (no, I didn't order food), I was on some kind of hate-list because I got the stink-eye by both bartenders. Wait, it gets worse. I noticed an open door to the kitchen and decided to have a peek. Dirty floor, unwashed dishes, and grease-stained walls made for an overall filthy food preparation environment. The patrons and myself were engaged in a conversation about 'pit bulls' and apparently a bartender overheard us talking and instructed us not to talk badly about pitbulls. She then called us 'ignorant' and 'idiots' and demanded we take our drinks and drink at the back of the bar. She then ejected me and one other patron for merely asking what her evidence was that pitbulls were NOT aggresive (as she adamantly argued). As soon as we asked 'why' we were both thrown out. Now, it's important to note that this isn't a 'revenge' posting because I could care less about another dive-bar but I wanted to give a heads up to anyone considering actually eating at this place, voluntarily. That is, perhaps, unless you're coming off a fast or lost a bet or were ordered to eat there by a Judge as an alternative to jail.
